I joined a "Big Eight" accounting firm upon graduation from college. Following two-year military service, I joined a global manufacturer of communications equipment, in their Finance department, later moving from Chicago to the New York City area on a promotion. Most of my career was spent in Finance up to Division Controller. This included accounting, credit/collections, billing, asset management, large customer contract negotiations, and small business subcontract partner support. Subsequently, I moved into Quality and served as a Field Quality Director for the distribution arm of the company. My focused responsibility was the sustaining of the customer relationship, including oversight of our relationship with alternate sales channel partners and service providers. This gave me first-hand experience working with small businesses and their issues running their business. During this time, I mentored younger employees desiring increased responsibility. Additional experiences include strategic long-range planning, Digital Six Sigma techniques, municipal government contract negotiations, and media relations.
